Eve of Destruction

It was the late 1960s, a time of great change in the United States. Charlie was a simple individual, a naïve patriotic youth who just wanted to serve his country and signs up for a hitch in Vietnam. However after coming back from the Vietnam war he has come back a changed man, with new values and new perceptions on life, to a society that he no longer understands. And there’s another thing about Charlie, he also happens to be in telepathic communication with a more advanced alien race who teach him that time and space are illusions, and that the human race is insane and heading towards inevitable self-destruction and extinction. Have Charlie’s experiences in the war left him completely insane, or is he on the verge of cosmic enlightenment?
